We are an exceptional and fast-growing educational counseling company. We work with students of all ages and specialize in helping them during the college admissions process. Our mission is to provide services of the highest quality to help our clients identify the right schools for them and gain admission to their top choices. We are constantly seeking great talent to join our team.

We are currently hiring for the following position:

College Admissions and Essay Counselor (Full-Time)

As a College Admissions and Essay Counselor, you will guide high school students through their academic and extracurricular work and, during their senior year, the college application process.  Each counselor receives a caseload of students and meets with them regularly (in person or via Skype, phone, or email) to offer advice regarding choice of academic classes, summer programs, independent projects, and other high school career components. We offer each student a compassionate, highly personalized experience.

In the students’ senior year, this position involves helping them navigate and fill out the Common Application, UC Application, and other application platforms, choose colleges that best fit them, request recommendation letters, develop ideas and edit their college essays, and more. In addition, we view the counselor as someone who will hold a mirror for students to see themselves more clearly and work with them to develop tools of reflection, courage, hard work, self-advocacy, and gratitude.

The counselor will be expected to join team meetings to discuss student files, but is free to set his/her own meeting times with students and work regularly from home. The counselor will have the opportunity to work with students from both Wise World Prep and Better Angels, our affiliated nonprofit organization to help low-income students increase their chances of gaining admission at dream colleges. We offer a training program for new hires, as well as the support of our amazing team.
