“We are delighted and enormously blessed to have this opportunity to send our daughter from Brazil to St. George’s High School. We loved the place and the people related, and we hope that whatever potential she has to offer will be release here under the good guidance of professional and caring tutors. I wanted to thank you sincerely because you supported and trained her in the process and infused her the confidence that she cleverly used in her applications and interviews; we think it really made the difference.”

“Dear Wes, I’m also glad you repeatedly encouraged P to write to her contact at Dartmouth. He sent a very warm response. She was so hesitant to send the email for some reason, and didn’t even think she wanted to go to Dartmouth at the time. If you had not reminded and urged her to send the email, I doubt Dartmouth would be on her list of possible school choices today.”

“Wes is an invaluable asset. Throughout my college process, Wes was communicative, totally accessible and had a sharp eye for detail. Not only was Wes diligent in helping me perfect my college essays, he also cultivated a cohesive, overall message for my entire application. Wes made me realize that I had a story to tell, and then helped me tell it. His ample knowledge of college admissions proved to be a fantastic tool in navigating the application process. Wes took the time to get to know me as a student and as an individual, and thus was able to steer me to success in the college application process.”

“Wes is a true mentor. While it is nice to have someone who offers solid and concrete advice on one’s writing, Wes ‘s strongest suit lies in the fact that his suggestions simply allow natural creativity to flow. He helps tap into a vast store of ideas that were previously unknown; yet, the best part is that they are still original ideas, only prodded into existence with Wes ‘s help. Not only does he shape your writing and aid you in finding a distinct voice, you can be sure that the multiple and meticulous revisions will yield a high quality end result.”

“Wes unravels the mysteries of college applications and breaks it down into manageable and understandable segments. He helped me find my footing in the ever-complex process and even shed new light on my own experiences. Most importantly, Wes guided me without piggybacking me, so I feel my essays are ultimately still true to my own voice and myself.”

“Thank you for your guidance to this past year and a half. Our daughter was accepted at more selective schools than her peers, and I believe that is thanks to your help in showing her how to be a stand-out candidate. You pushed her to find a meaningful summer internship last year, which was a big part of her application, and continually urged her to take her school clubs to the next level. The encouragement and practical advice you provided as she wrote her essays gave her confidence in her writing and skills she will use the rest of her life.”

“During mid-December, I was deferred from a college, and I was in desperate need of the right coaching for my application for the regular decision round. It must have been a holiday miracle when I came across Wise World Prep. Wes helped me get through my many college applications. He always gave suggestions that would strengthen my essays. He always remembered my details – like my interests, goals, and personality traits. I am so grateful for the chance I had to work with Wes, because his college consulting service helped me to get into the college of my dreams.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Wes in the fall of 2010. I was planning to apply to UK colleges, and while I had an idea of what to expect from the Common Application from school, I was at a loss when faced with the English UCAS forms. Wes has experience in both the US and UK systems, having attended both Harvard and Cambridge, and helped clarify the UCAS where needed whilst editing my personal statement. He helped tremendously through his editing and by providing information, such as the different strengths of the colleges that make up Oxford. When I was called for interviews, the comment I heard most commonly was praise for my personal statement, something that I doubt would have been said without Wes’ expert guidance. He also helped me prepare for my interviews both on the phone and in person, covering all manner of possible topics relating to my subject of interest. My favourite thing about Wes overall though, would have to be the speed and quality of his advice. I could expect it within 24 hours of sending my draft (usually much sooner) and he would be available to discuss the proposed changes with over the phone.”

“Thank you for all your help! I’m very proud of and happy for our daughter. She is now leaning 50% Dartmouth, 40% Penn, 10% Duke. Dartmouth has selected her as a “Hudson Scholar” and are paying for her trip to accepted students days. Penn invited her to apply to the Franklin Scholars program. She has talked with students she knows at both schools. She loves the traditions at Dartmouth, the dorms, the beautiful campus and surroundings and how special and club-like it is. She loves the energy at Penn, and the many research and academic opportunities there including the Oxford year abroad program (she visited Oxford last week and fell in love with it). She likes the “fun” feeling at Duke, the weather, and the campus.”

“You guided our daughter and mentored her all the way. As first generation immigrants I have always felt a lack of knowledge and process in this very important crucial decision in life. You have really helped my daughter in more ways than you know. Thanks again for taking the challenge to help her apply for some other scholarships besides the one she already got. I do wish both of you best of luck and happy essay writing. We have struggled with her classroom grades all her life. She is not able to convert how much she can achieve to great grades. But where she is, I’m very happy.

“Dear Wes and Momo, I just want to thank you so much for all your help and support through this college process! I was completely lost on how to make my applications as perfect as they could be and in that regard, you really saved my future education prospects. By showing me how to tell my stories, share my activities so that they highlight my strengths, develop a relationship with schools, and learn how to put myself in my readers’ shoes, while still remaining sincere and personal, is a feat I could have never accomplished on my own. I can now confidently say that I am proud of my application and much more optimistic about my prospects for the future, and that is something I couldn’t say before talking and working with you. The fact that you would agree to help just a few days before the deadline is incredibly generous and kind. My sincerest thanks and gratitude.”

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your incredible team was essential to the success of our eldest son’s early admission to Harvard and our daughter’s early admission to Brown. Our youngest daughter in 9th grade already loves working you through Passion Starter as well! We tell all of our friends about you and how you made navigating the college application process as pain- and worry-free as it could possibly be for the most worrisome family there is. It’s such a relief to know that a real expert is working with your children and that we can let go of the reigns and not worry about anything. You answered all our questions promptly, you were always there for us to shine a light, and with your guidance, we were secure and confident. Your knowledge of the admissions process is remarkable, but more than that, it was an incredible experience to watch our children grow – not only as writers, but as people – while working with you. They were always talking about what you had said or suggested. But that’s just us – wait until you hear how our children rave about you!”

“Upon meeting Wes for the first time, it was instantly obvious that he is one of the kindest, warmest people I’d ever met. During my senior year of high school, I started out rather afraid of the college application process. I had no idea what to write in my Personal Essay and supplements, so I went to Wes hoping for some direction and inspiration. Within our first session together, my perspective on the application process changed, 180º! Wes inspired me to look deep into myself and write about what makes me feel, what makes me think, what makes me wonder and be creative. He simply prompted me to talk and reflect on what I care about. The way in which he did this was so insightful, worded so honestly and artfully; but he also left all the power to me, so that the essays would be completely my own. He made the application process an enjoyable and educational experience for me. He also asked me questions that helped me figure out which college was truly the right match for me. And now, here I am with a Presidential Scholarship to Bennington College — happy, inspired, and very thankful. (Hard to be laconic when talking about such a great person!)”

“Wes is one of the landmark people in my life. My final year of high school was a swirling period of transformation and growth, and Wes was there at the kickoff. He nudged me in the right directions without dictation and asked the best, most difficult questions without my feeling uncomfortable. The college application process was exhilarating at times when many other students were groaning; Wes made writing the essays beautifully cathartic and worthwhile, providing invaluable insight and suggestion every step of the way. “But Wes was more than a terrific college counselor who helped me get into the right school … much more. He became a unique teacher, mentor, and friend in the sense that he wasn’t a part of my in-school life, nor was he a parent or peer. I can talk about life, the universe, and everything with him — literature, love, family, philosophy. There will always be a place for Wes in my future.”

“Dear Momo, Thank you for all your help with my college applications. Without a doubt, working with you has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my 12 years of schooling. It was the most introspective, thought-provoking, challenging – and of course, rewarding – undertaking ever. I learned so much about myself – my dreams and aspirations, what I’m good at, what makes me exited, and the ways I want to grow in college and beyond. Without your guidance, I doubt whether I would have been admitted to my dream school. I know for certain that, without your help, I would not have been able to submit an application nearly as strong as what I submitted with your help. I am thrilled to be going to Wharton next year and am so grateful for everything that you did to make this possible.”
